Let's dive in.
The first serious ChatGPT competitor
There's a new kid in town.
Meet Claude, the new AI chat assistant from Anthropic, a startup co-founded by some former OpenAI employees. It's currently in closed beta, but from what I've seen, it's lookin' pretty promising.
The team at Anthropic has been using something called "Constitutional AI" to make sure Claude doesn't give any harmful outputs. And get this, Scale even did a test where they compared Claude to ChatGPT, and Claude was more aware of its own limitations. Can you believe that?
Here is what ChatGPT thinks about it:
Microsoft Azure OpenAI service with GPT-3.5 is now available
Microsoft just launched the Azure OpenAI Service , which is basically like the Avengers of AI models. GPT-3.5, Codex, Embeddings, DALL-E 2, and soon ChatGPT are all joining forces on this bad boy. It's like the Justice League, but with more coding.
This is amazing, because:
It makes it easier for businesses to access the advanced AI models in the cloud
It's running on a super secure and robust platform
Better optimized costs
Only available for Microsoft customers and partners for now. So, if you are a Microsoft customer, you can request access on this link.
The OpenAI using Kenyan workers on less than $2 per hour to make ChatGPT less toxic
There's been some controversy brewing over at OpenAI recently. A recent investigation reported by TIME has revealed that in order to make ChatGPT less toxic, they used outsourced Kenyan labourers earning less than $2 per hour.
The workers were assigned to label a large number of text snippets, some of which were taken from the most offensive corners of the internet and depicted graphic violence, hate speech, and sexual abuse. This labelled data was then utilized to teach the AI system to recognize and eliminate toxic language before it could reach its end users.
Folks have been pointing out that the average wage in Kenya is $1.25/hr and, according to reports, OpenAI paid Sama $12/hr, but Sama paid its workers only $2/hr.
Here is a ChatGPT comment on it:
OpenAI is testing the paid version of ChatGPT
Well, OpenAI just dropped a bomb and launched that they're now charging $42/mo for access to ChatGPT Pro.
But, before you break out the pitchforks and torches, let me tell you, this move ain't all bad. With this paid version, you'll be getting access to some extra features and capabilities that the free version just can't offer. Plus, think about it, you're getting access to one of the most advanced AI assistants in the game for less than the price of a fancy latte each month.
But, if you like ChatGPT and you don't want to pay for it, don't worry, the free version of ChatGPT is still available, just with some limitations.
