Mastering Your LinkedIn Profile with ChatGPT
How to supercharge your LinkedIn game with ChatGPT.
Today, I’m going to show you how to supercharge your LinkedIn game with ChatGPT.
In the world of spam, hundred cold requests, and hustling on LinkedIn, I’m going to walk through an important and organic approach. And this approach starts from your profile.
Imagine a LinkedIn profile that stands out, captivates potential clients (or recruiters), and attracts the right connections effortlessly.
Hundreds of professionals compete for the same opportunities, making it challenging to get noticed. Without a compelling LinkedIn profile, you risk being overlooked and losing potential business opportunities.
And we can use the power of ChatGPT to create a winning profile.
“Profile doesn’t matter”
The opposite is true.
Your LinkedIn profile is like your online business card. It shows the world who you are, what you do, and why you're amazing!
I love Justin Welsh’s Profile Funnel where you can see all interactions before people follow you or buy from you.
Your profile page either gives you new opportunities or kills them.
In this post, we will focus on the “Hero section”, which includes the headline, headshot, and banner image. And before we start optimizing your profile with ChatGPT, let’s look at some examples.
Best practices
To make your profile stand out from the crowd, it should be trustworthy and highlight your unique positioning.
There are 3 main parts of the “Hero section”:
The banner image: it should explain what you do in 2 seconds.
Headshot: it should look professional and build trust.
Headline: it should expand what you do and continue positioning that you make on the banner image.
Here are examples of great and not-so-great profiles to explain why it’s so important. You also get to see some not-so-great profiles to learn from their mistakes and avoid them.
Not-so-great profile:
Banner's image doesn’t explain what he does. The tagline doesn’t have a clear value why I should follow this profile.
Great profile:
Similar niche but it looks much more professional.
Another example:
Same niche. Whom do you prefer to hire? One profile builds trust, another doesn’t do it.
One more example:
Tagline is very broad in the first profile. The second profile has a clear headline that perfectly describes positioning and matches the banner image.
I prepared more profiles for your inspiration. You can get access to the Notion page with 10 LinkedIn profile examples here.
How to create an irresistible LinkedIn profile with AI
Headline and banner image
Let’s start with the headline.
It should explain what you do in 2 seconds. We will use ChatGPT for it.
Remember, general input - general outcomes. The more specific prompt - the better results.
We will not use it because it’s too generic. We go further.
I use this prompt that helps to create personal positioning. It includes context, goal, criteria, and your data to make it very specific. It also helps to generate ideas for your uniqueness. You can find the full prompt on the Notion page.
And here are our results.
But we will not stop here. We are going to ask ChatGPT to improve these options.
The power in follow ups.
And here is our outcome. It looks much better.
This prompt generated your positioning and statement. Personal positioning is your headline. Statement is the text for the banner image.
We can also ask ChatGPT to make it better, but I love the current options. Just want to make some small improvements to make it more personal.
We have a headline and text for the banner image.
Banner image
The next step is to create an actual image.
You can use Canva’s LinkedIn Banner Generator for it.
Choose a template you like and add the statement we got from ChatGPT.
Headshot
The last step is your headshot (profile image).
You can hire a photographer or use your best picture (if you have it). Remember, it should look professional and build trust.
Another way to create a headshot is by using AI.
You can create headshots in HeadshotPro or Aragon. Just download your best pictures and get headshots in 10-15 minutes.
I have professional photos, but I decided to try HeadshotPro. And I’m pretty much satisfied with the results.
I uploaded the photos. In the end, it generated 120 headshots with 3 different styles. From these 120 images, I chose 7 really good pictures that I like. It took only 30 minutes to create professional headshots.
Here are the results.

By now, you have all tools to optimize your LinkedIn profile like a pro.
