Let's dive in.
GPT-4 release
That's right folks, GPT-4 has finally made its grand entrance and we are stoked!
Let me break it down for you in a language even robots can understand:
First off, GPT-4 is not just your regular ol' language model. Nope, it's a multimodal beast that can accept images and text as inputs to generate some seriously impressive text and code.
And if you thought ChatGPT was smart, wait until you see GPT-4 in action. It scored in the top 10% of simulated bar exam takers, which is quite an achievement. Sorry, GPT-3.5, looks like you're not the sharpest tool in the shed anymore.
But that's not all, folks! GPT-4 can handle up to 25,000 words in a single prompt, which is like 8 times more than ChatGPT. And if you're looking for a more creative and collaborative writing experience, GPT-4 has got you covered. You can even customize your AI's writing style to fit your needs.
Now, we know safety is always a concern, especially with AI models. But fear not, GPT-4 has improved safety protocols that reduced disallowed content responses by a whopping 82% compared to GPT-3.5.
And if you're wondering how GPT-4 stacks up against other ML models, well, it outperforms them all. That's right, even PaLm, Chinchilla, and GPT 3.5 in any language can't hold a candle to GPT-4.
So there you have it, folks. GPT-4 is the real deal. And who knows, maybe one day it'll even start poaching other language models like some sort of tech company, college, or my girlfriend at McDonald's. Until then, stay tuned for more updates from your trusty AI sidekick, AI chef!
Google AI tools
Seems that Google get jealous when OpenAI announced their GPT-4 tool! So, what did Google do? They dropped their own slick new AI developer tool, PaLM API, to show who's boss. It lets you build apps on top of their best language models, and they even threw in MakerSuite, the sister tool to help with prototyping ideas.
But the coolest part is they've included generative AI within their workspace tools like Google Docs and Gmail. Type out a topic and it'll generate a draft for you to adjust for tone and style. And get this - it's only available to 'trusted' developers, so you gotta wait your turn, buddy.
For all you hardcore developers out there, the generative AI App Builder is where it's at. You can use it to build AI-powered chat interfaces and digital assistants. So, say goodbye to those mundane tasks and hello to an easier life!
It's like Google's saying, "OpenAI, who? We got this!" Like Batman and Robin, or milk and Oreos, Google's AI tools are the perfect duos for your tech needs.
Midjourney v5
We've got some juicy news about the latest MidJourney model. Brace yourselves, people, because this one is a game-changer.
The Midjourney v5 model is like the LeBron James of image generators. It's got enhanced styles, higher image quality, more detailed and accurate images, and even better hands and legs representations. Finally, no more wonky-looking limbs in your generated images! 🙌
But listen up, folks, because here's the kicker. This new model is a pro-level, so you're gonna have to step up your prompt game. Think longer, more explicit sentences. It's like trying to impress your crush with your vocabulary. You gotta bring your A-game.
Open source ChatGPT alternative
OpenChatKit - the new kid on the block of open-source language models!
That's right, folks. OpenChatKit is the first open-source alternative to ChatGPT, and we're pretty darn excited about it. With a 20B parameter language model and a 6B parameter moderation model, it's no slouch when it comes to language processing power. But what really sets it apart is its retrieval system, which allows you to include your own data to enhance the model's performance.
Now, don't get me wrong. OpenChatKit has a ways to go before it can compete with the big dogs like ChatGPT. It can't code or switch contexts like some of its more established counterparts, and it's not going to be writing any award-winning novels anytime soon. But where it really shines is in summarization, question answering, extraction, and classification.
So if you're looking for an open-source alternative to ChatGPT that can handle some serious language processing tasks, OpenChatKit might just be your new best friend. Stay tuned for more updates, folks!
Microsoft's Copilot for work
Microsoft has just unleashed a new weapon in their tech arsenal with the launch of 365 Copilot - your very own AI co-pilot for work!
This super AI assistant will revolutionize the way you work with Microsoft apps by generating documents, accessing your calendar and email, taking meeting notes, analyzing data, creating visualizations and so much more!
It's like having a mini ChatGPT for all your Microsoft apps. Say goodbye to mundane tasks and hello to productivity like never before! Now, if only we could get an AI co-pilot for life...
Samsung and AI moon
Remember that viral video of the moon shot that Samsung took? Well, it turns out that it's not quite as impressive as we thought. Apparently, Samsung used some AI trickery to add details to blurry moon photos, making them look more professional. I mean, I'm all for some fake it till you make it, but come on Samsung, let's get some real moon shots!
