Let's dive in.
Two new models from Google: PALM-E and USM
Google has released not one, but TWO new models! That's right, folks, Google is really showing off its fancy pants technology.
First up, we've got PaLM-E. No, it's not some new milk product or the name of your cousin's cat. PaLM-E is actually an embodied language model. What does that mean, you ask? Well, it means that Google has mixed sensor data into its language models, so robots can learn from interactions instead of just internet data. Talk about being extra!
Here is an overview from one of the authors.
But wait, there's more! Google is also making a Universal Speech Model (USM). Now, this isn't some new workout routine. The USM is a language model with automatic speech recognition that supports 1000 languages. The Verge even reported that Google's one step closer to building its 1,000-language AI model. That's a lot of languages, folks! Can Google even speak that many?
All jokes aside, Google's new models are pretty impressive. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have robots speaking every language on the planet. Until then, I'll stick to my trusty Google Translate app.
Discord launches ChatGPT-powered features
Discord has gone and teamed up with the AI wizards at OpenAI to give their bots a boost and bring in some fancy new AI features, and let me tell you, they are impressive.
First up, we've got Clyde, the OG Discord bot who's been around since the beginning. And now, Clyde can answer all your questions, hold extended conversations, recommend playlists, and even access GIFs and emojis. Talk about a jack of all trades!
Next on the list is AutoMod AI, which blocks even more unwanted messages. Say goodbye to all those pesky spammers and trolls.
But that's not all! With Conversation Summaries, you can generate summaries of your group conversations. Who needs a transcript when you've got AI, am I right?
And for all you developers out there, Discord's Avatar Remix allows you to build on top of AI in Discord. It's like building with Legos, but way cooler!
Last but not least, we've got Whiteboard with AI, a shared space to generate text-to-image with your friends. It's like Pictionary, but with robots.
Discord is paving the way with this collaborative space for users to create AI-generated art together.
The power of AI in CRM: Hubspot & Salesforce moves
Well, well, well, looks like the B2B world is getting a taste of the AI frenzy too!
HubSpot is jumping on the bandwagon with their new release, ChatSpot. This powerful tool combines some of the hottest technologies out there, including OpenAI's ChatGPT, DALL-E 2, Stable Diffusion, Google Workspace, and keyword research to bring AI functionality to your HubSpot CRM.
With ChatSpot.ai, you'll be able to generate reports on traffic performance, write personalized emails, receive daily digest emails with team progress highlights and key metrics, and even generate social posts with AI-generated images, all without breaking a sweat.
But wait, there's more! Salesforce is joining in on the fun with their Einstein GPT technology. This new generative AI CRM technology creates AI-generated content for every sales, service, marketing, commerce, and IT interaction. Customers can even connect their data to OpenAI's AI models and use natural-language prompts to generate personalized content that continuously adapts to changing customer information and needs in real-time.
It looks like the future of B2B is going to be more AI-tastic than ever before!
DuckDuckGo introduces AI with DuckAssist
Have you heard of DuckDuckGo's new AI tool, DuckAssist? No, it's not a robot duck that helps you cross the road, but it might just help you find the answers you need.
Using language models from OpenAI and Anthropic, DuckAssist generates summarized responses to your questions using information from Wikipedia. And of course, because it's DuckDuckGo, it's all done with a focus on privacy.
Right now, you can check out the beta version of DuckAssist on their mobile apps and browser extensions. If all goes well, they might even add it to their web-based search engine. Just remember, if anyone asks where you got your answers from, you can proudly say, "DuckAssist, my dear friend."
GPT-4 is coming
Ladies and gentlemen, we have some hot off the press news about GPT-4. Get ready to have your minds blown!
At a recent AI kickoff event, Microsoft Germany's CTO, Andreas Braun, spilled the beans that GPT-4 is coming next week! Can you believe it? And that's not all. This new version of GPT is going to be MULTIMODAL! That means it's not just going to spit out text, but it can also generate images, music, and even video!
And get this - the technology has come so far that it basically "works in all languages." So even if you're trying to translate from Klingon to Dothraki, GPT-4 has got your back.
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm starting to feel like we're living in the future. I don't know how reliable this news source. However, GPT-4 is set to drop sometime in 2023, and I can't wait to see how it's going to change the game. Get ready, folks, because the AI revolution is just getting started!
