Let's dive in.
3D visualization on how LLM works
Want to see how LLMs work? Here is a cool 3D visualization tool!
This tool helps you understand what's going on inside LLMs (Language Models). It uses a small model called nano-gpt with just 85,000 parameters.
It visualizes how the model sorts a sequence of letters (C B A B B C) into alphabetical order (ABBBCC). You can also compare this small model to larger ones like GPT-3.
You can try it here!

Add ChatGPT to your website as a customer support assistant
Imagine training ChatGPT on your data and using it as a customer service guru on your website. It can handle most of the customers' questions in any language.
So, you can do it with Craftman. Answer your visitors’ questions quickly with a ChatGPT chatbot trained on your data. Easily add the AI chat widget to your website for faster support.
Altman is Time's CEO of the year
Sam Altman has been named the CEO of the Year by TIME magazine. This is a special award because they don't have an award for CEOs. Their usual award is for Person of the Year, which this year went to Taylor Swift."
How to turn any image into a short video
Want to create video from your image? Try Stability AI's new tool, Stable Video Diffusion, to make a short video from any picture.
First, choose the picture you want to change into a video.
Then, put it into Stable Diffusion.
You can change the video's size, how it moves, and how big the frames are if you want.
When you're done, click the download button under the video to get it.
It might take a little time, like a minute or two, to make the video.
The video shown here was made using this picture:
Ex-OpenAI board member speaks on Altman's firing
Helen Toner, a board member of OpenAI, shared her side of the story about the intense disagreement in the company's boardroom. This happened during a decision to remove CEO Sam Altman, as she told The Wall Street Journal.
Highlights:
Toner says the decision to fire Altman was not because of worries about AI safety, but rather due to a loss of trust.
She and Altman had disagreements before he was fired, especially about a paper on AI safety that she helped write in October. Altman thought it was too critical of OpenAI.
Altman reportedly tried to get directors to fire Toner, and his supporters publicly criticized her skills and what she thought was important.
Despite being surprised by how loyal employees were to Altman, Toner emphasized that OpenAI should focus on its goal of making sure advanced AI is good for everyone, not just follow Altman's lead.
Why it's important: This inside story shows more about the intense conflict at one of the most talked-about companies. It seems more like a struggle for power than a worry about AI that can't be controlled.
Google presents Gemini
Google DeepMind has just introduced their latest and most advanced multimodal AI, Google Gemini, which is considered a major competitor to GPT-4.
Highlights:
Gemini is available in three versions: Ultra for complex tasks, Pro for a variety of tasks, and Nano for efficient tasks on devices. Gemini Ultra has outperformed other models in 30 out of 32 benchmarks used in AI research and development.
Gemini's features include advanced reasoning, handling different types of data, and improved coding abilities.
Google also unveiled Cloud TPU v5p, their most powerful processing unit, which supports Gemini.
Gemini Pro will be integrated into Google products like Gmail, YouTube, and Docs through Bard, starting today.
Bard, with Gemini Pro, is now accessible in English in over 170 countries. Gemini Ultra will be available early next year. Gemini Nano will be featured in the upcoming Pixel 8 phone.
However, controversy surrounds a promotional video for Gemini. Machine Learning engineer Santiago and others criticized the video for not showing real-time performance, as claimed. And Google admits that a Gemini AI demo video was staged.
Why it's important: Google's highly awaited response to ChatGPT, dubbed the 'ChatGPT killer', has arrived with 3 distinct models. While the full capabilities of Gemini Ultra are yet to be tested, Gemini Pro is already available in Bard, making it the best free chatbot currently available, according to benchmarks. However, Google admits that a Gemini AI demo video was staged. So, there are still many questions regarding Gemini's actual capabilities.
