ChatGPT plugins are here
Have you heard the news? OpenAI released ChatGPT plugins this week and it's causing quite the stir in the development world. People are dropping everything to create plugins for this bad boy, and some are even calling it the iOS App Store of the AI world.
Here are the plugins that have already been created:
Expedia: Bring your trip plans to life—get there, stay there, find things to see and do
Instacart: Order from your favorite local grocery stores
KAYAK: Search for flights, stays and rental cars
Shop: Search for millions of products from the world’s greatest brands
Speak: Learn how to say anything in another language with Speak, your AI-powered language tutor
Wolfram: Access computation, math, curated knowledge & real-time data through Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language
Zapier: Interact with over 5,000+ apps like Google Sheets, Trello, Gmail, HubSpot, Salesforce, and more
But wait, there's more! ChatGPT even has a new plugin that uses the Bing API, allowing it to browse the current and up-to-date internet. It's like having a superhero AI on your side, always ready to assist you in your online endeavors.
This is history in the making, folks. The possibilities are endless, and we're excited to see what developers will come up with next. Who knows, maybe this is the start of a million-dollar startup for some lucky developers out there!
Google opened access to Bard, ChatGPT competitor
Google has released Bard, a brand new chatbot built on their LaMDA model with 137 billion parameters. It's like ChatGPT's cool cousin who knows all the answers to life's tough questions
Here's a list of things Bard can do:
Bard can offer conversational responses to complex questions, just like ChatGPT. But don't worry, ChatGPT is still the boss!
Bard is currently rolling out in the U.S. and U.K.
You can request access through the waiting list, but be prepared to wait. Bard is a hot commodity, just like toilet paper during the pandemic.
Many users seem to be getting access quickly, but be warned, there have been several alarming responses from Bard, such as claiming its training dataset includes Gmail. Maybe Bard needs to take a chill pill?
Bard can't write any code, which is probably for the best. We don't need any rogue chatbots taking over the world with their mad coding skills.
Bard agrees that Google is a monopoly.
Although Google's CEO warned that "things will go wrong," it seems like Bard is holding up pretty well. Just don't ask it to write you a novel or do your taxes. Stick to the tough questions, like "Why did the chicken cross the road?"
Microsoft's Loop vs Notion
Microsoft unleashed Loop.
Here’s a scoop on Microsoft’s new project Loop:
Loop is Microsoft’s new document format that is heavily linked to MS Office, but is a separate collaboration tool.
It has text blocks, pages, and workspaces, just like your favorite note-taking app Notion.
It’s in public preview mode and soon to have a mobile app. It's got everything but a cape and a secret identity.
Now, what’s so special about Loop? Well, it’s also competing with Google Workspace, and it’s got AI copilot built into it. That's right, it's got a digital sidekick that will make your life a whole lot easier. Loop’s AI copilot will not only help you with your work, but it’ll also order your coffee and walk your dog. Okay, not really, but it’ll still make your work a whole lot easier.
So there you have it, folks!
Microsoft’s Loop is the new kid on the block, and it’s got all the bells and whistles you need to make your workday a success. It’s like having a personal assistant that works for free. What more could you ask for?

Alpaca: the free alternative for ChatGPT
Let me tell you about Alpaca, the affordable and easy-to-use AI model that's taking the research world by storm! Here's what Alpaca can do:
Follow instructions with ease, just like your trusty GPS navigator
Fine-tuned from Meta's LLaMA 7B, so you know it's legit
Similar capabilities to OpenAI's text-davinci-003, but at a fraction of the cost (sorry OpenAI!)
Perfect for academic research, but don't go using it for commercial use just yet, my friend
And the best part? You can set up Alpaca on your very own machine! Just follow the super-easy tutorial on Twitter and you'll be good to go. Alpaca is like your own personal ChatGPT, but private and completely free.
