Runway Gen-2: ChatGPT of video
Let's dive in.
It's not so easy to detect AI-written content
OpenAI had this thing called the AI Classifier.
It was like a detective that tried to figure out if something was written by AI. But you know what? It didn't do such a great job! So, they decided to take it offline. Bummer, right?
But don't worry! It's actually a good thing. You know why? Because if a detective isn't good at its job, it can mess things up big time! Imagine if your teacher or boss used this detective to judge your work, but it got things wrong.
So, OpenAI is doing the right thing by taking it offline.
Meta introduced their AI image generator
Meta just unleashed their latest AI model called CM3leon.
Highlights:
It can make up stories and draw pictures based on other words and pictures you give it.
And get this, it's super smart! It does the text-to-image thing with way less computer power than before. That means it's faster and cooler!
CM3leon can also make up captions for images and answer questions about pictures.
Oh, and here's something really cool! It's the first model that learned from text-only stuff and became amazing at pictures too!
Even though it learned from a smaller set of words (only 3 billion tokens), it's still as good as bigger models! Meta's on a roll with their AI stuff!
Safe AI meeting in the White House
The Biden Administration is putting some heat on big AI companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft to step up AI safety standards.
Highlights:
This comes after concerns over potential threats posed by AI technology, including OpenAI's ChatGPT investigation.
The companies have committed to internal and external security testing, sharing information on managing AI risks, investing in cybersecurity, and prioritizing research on AI's societal risks.
The goal is to ensure responsible use and governance of AI amid its rapid development and deployment.
This move is significant as it shows these tech giants are taking AI safety seriously and making promises to protect us from any AI mishaps!
AI is growing like crazy, and it's popping up everywhere! So, it's crucial to make sure it behaves and doesn't go rogue on us! Safety first, folks!
OpenAI CEO published cryptocurrency
Check this out - Sam Altman, the big cheese at Open AI, just rolled out his own cryptocurrency called Worldcoin!
Highlights:
Worldcoin wants to build a fancy global identity network using something they call a World ID.
And get this - they're trying to tell AI apart from humans! This could lead to some AI-funded universal basic income. Robots sharing the wealth, who knew?! 🤑
But wait, there's drama! Some folks are criticizing Worldcoin for being sneaky in certain countries, and they're dealing with all the tough cryptocurrency rules around the world.
So, even though it's not directly about AI, Worldcoin is all about the connection between AI and us humans.
Stability AI launched SDXL 1.0, Midjourney's competitor
Stability AI just dropped a hot new release - SDXL 1.0!
Highlights:
SDXL 1.0 can create super cool images in all kinds of art styles, even photorealistic ones! So, if you ever dreamed of turning your words into amazing pictures, this is your chance!
The model got a serious upgrade in language skills. It's now a pro at understanding simpler language and telling apart words that might sound alike but mean different things. Like a language detective!
Get this - SDXL 1.0 is the BIGGEST open image model out there, flexing its 10.1 billion parameters!
You can try it out yourself with Clipdrop. And let's not forget - the competition with Midjourney is heating up! Who's gonna win the ultimate AI showdown?
Runway Gen-2: ChatGPT of video
Runway Gen-2 just dropped a cool new feature - text-to-video magic! It's like turning your images into little movie stars, just like how Midjourney rocks the text-to-image game!
Highlights:
It's not gonna beat Hollywood just yet, but let's give it some props! We've come a long way in AI tech, and generating images with AI was a big deal not too long ago!
Early users are taking images from Midjourney and turning them into Gen-2 videos!
Check out Javi Lopez's Twitter feed for a taste of the AI awesomeness!
